Our Wedding

We both moved to Chicago in the summer of 2018, but it would take 4 years before our paths would cross. One date quickly turned into 4 dates in 4 days! After dating for almost 2 years, an off hand comment Nathan made on the first date became reality and he was packing his bags to move to Switzerland for two years. After multiple trips to Switzerland, a trip to Madrid and return trip to Chicago, we got engaged in Paris in the spring of 2025.

A world class art museum near the venue. Make sure to check out the Thorne miniature rooms in the basement.

The Art Institute of Chicago

Our favorite place to walk in the city. Experience the world class architecture of Chicago while walking along the river. Stop at one of the many restaurants or bars if you find yourself hungry or thirsty while you walk. One of our favorites is The Northman Beer and Cider Garden.

Riverwalk

Arguably, the best way to see the city and its architecture. Join a boat tour and enjoy the ride on the Chicago river while learning about the history of the city and its buildings. There are a couple of different companies that conduct the tours and we have our own favorites. Check out Shoreline or the First Lady.

Architecture River Tour

Tapas style restaurant in River North. Don't forget to ask about the daily sangria. Happy hour on weekdays from 3:30-5:30.

Lil' Ba-Ba-Reeba!

If you are looking for a special place to have dinner, check out our favorite steakhouse in the city that is our traditional spot for Nathan's birthday. Cody typically goes for the lamb chops while Nathan sticks with the ribeye. Reservations in advance are a must!

Bavette's Bar & Boeuf

One of our go to places for dinner tucked down the most picturesque alley in the city. Order your food at the counter, grab a beer and enjoy the food at communal picnic tables.

Green Street Smoked Meats

Our favorite cocktail spot in the city. This speakeasy is located in the basement of the Hoxton hotel in West Loop. Walk past reception and head downstairs to find a small bar that mixes up all the classic cocktails.

Lazy Bird

Check out the park that hosts the famous "Bean" sculpture across from the Chicago Athletic Association.

Millennium Park

A rooftop bar at Chicago Athletic Association. Just hop on the elevator to the top floor for some of the best views in the city.

Cindy's Rooftop

A great breakfast spot near Chicago Athletic Association. Bring your appetite and some patience. There is usually a wait and reservations are not taken. There's usually enough time to visit the bean while you wait and the restaurant will text you when your table is ready!
